On Christmas Eve we celebrated by going to church for the Christmas Eve service.
When we came home, we took a few pictures of the munchkins and us by the Christmas Tree.
After some pictures, we had the munchkins open two gifts from us, new PJ's and a crocheted candy cane ornament.
On Christmas morning, which was on Sunday this year, we woke up and Jon read the Christmas story from the second chapter of Luke.
Then, before we headed to church, we opened some presents.
Here, our sweetheart opened her gift from her brother, a princess umbrella.
(Despite the scowl on Buddy's face in this photo, he really was very excited to give this gift to his sister!)

Buddy opened his gift from his sister, who picked it out herself. It was a teddy bear holding a blue blanket. Buddy has a blue doggy blanket that he sleeps with, so this was a thoughtful gift from his sister,
Each of them also received their own bibles this year. We have really enjoyed reading out of these bibles with them and seeing the pictures that go along with some of the bible stories. We also thought it would be helpful for them to see the verses they are learning in AWANA in their own bibles.
After opening a few more gifts, we were off to go worship our newborn King at church.
After church, due to my poor planning and limited food in the house... because we were heading to Indiana the next day... for a week... to see our extended families, we ate lunch at a nearby Chinese restaurant. (Not many restaurants are opened on Christmas Day - surprise, surprise.) We had never eaten at a Chinese restaurant as a family, so we weren't sure if the munchkins would even like Chinese food.
Once we got there and received our food, the kids loved it! They even ate their food with chopsticks, a skill I have yet to master!
I'm still blown away by how well they ate their Chinese food with chopsticks!
When we arrived home from the restaurant, the munchkins played with some of their Christmas presents while Jon and I started to pack up to leave for Indiana the next morning.
We had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas with our family of four.
Good job eating with chopsticks! I wish they could teach me before I leave for China. : )
