Our Little Girl Turned 5!

On Thursday, February 3rd, our little girl turned 5 years old!  How can this be!

I remember the moment the nurse brought her over to have me hold her for the very first time... such joy and love filled my heart and the tears were flowing nonstop... tears of joy and amazement of the precious gift God had given us!

Here's our baby girl only one day old!  Has it really been 5 years since this picture was taken?
And here she is all grown up!

We started her big day off by having Krispy Kreme doughnuts for breakfast!  Yummmmm!

The day before, we made cupcakes for her classmates at preschool.
After preschool, our family went to Chuck E Cheese to enjoy some indoor play time, to have pizza, and to watch Sissy open her presents.  (She requested that we bring her presents with us so she could open them there.)

Jon giving Buddy pointers on how to play a game.

One thing you can do at Chuck E Cheese is sit in a photo booth as the machine takes your picture and prints it out for you.  I thought this picture turned out so sweet of our two munchkins.  It also has the date written on it, so we can remember when the picture was taken.
Buddy got his sister this little stuffed doggy.
Grandma Jean sent her present in the mail a week before her birthday.  We decided to have her wait to open the present until her birthday!  It was unicorn pillow pet along with a book about the pillow pets!  I think the pillow pet was her favorite gift!
I crocheted a blanket for her with colors that she picked out.  She now has it on her bed and covers up with it at night.
After opening presents, we had a little more time to play.  After searching for a little while, this is where I found Jon.... playing a racing game!

For dinner, the birthday girl requested that we have hot dogs and doritos, 'cheesy chips' as she would say, for her birthday meal.  I added apples to the menu to help try and balance the meal with at least one healthy item!
After dinner was over, we all sang Happy Birthday to the birthday girl.
And then she blew out her 5 candles on her cupcake.

She was so sweet when she told me that this was the best day ever!  She also said, "Thanks for making my birthday so special for me, Mommy!"
We love you sweetheart!  You have brought us much joy over these last five years.  Lord willing, we will have many more years together with you.
